January Update

Brandon:
After his canoeing accident on Dec 20, Brandon came home with an abrasion on his knee. For 2 weeks, it was healing fine and giving him no problems. Then, the scab started to loosen and a toxic infection was released into his bloodstream. He was unable to walk, so he was admitted to the hospital because he had fever of 102 that would not come down. Turns out, the infection would not grow a culture so it could not be determined what the infection was. He was treated for 5 days in the hospital with the most powerful antibiotics running through him via IV. The antibiotics took a toll on his veins and he had to have his IV changed 3 times. He is at home now and is walking just fine. A small abrasion still exists but it is healing just fine.

Unfortunately, his company is being sold and his position was deleted. Therefore he was let go last week and is currently looking for work. We are busy getting his resumes out there and hopeful that something will come to us soon. He is staying busy fixing little things around the house since we have it for sale.

Tyler:
He started his guitar lessons and has learned to play Smoke on the Water. He enjoyed a few hours at a recording studio last week. A co-worker of mine is in a band and had some studio time to make an album. She invited Tyler to some up there and see guitarists in action. He LOVED it. He sat and talked music trivia and history with grown men who were amazed at how much he knew for an 8 year old.

He starts baseball practice next month and is totally looking forward to this season. He is playing Minor A ball now which means there's an actual pitcher instead of a machine. Should be interesting.

Tyler made the A-B honor roll again.

He turns 9 next month and has asked for an ipod Nano and itunes gift cards to buys rock and roll songs and videos.

Jackson:
His basketball season started last week and he his team is already 2-0. He hasn't scored yet, but he has had a few assists and has attempted one shot. He's just a little timid out there and I'm not sure there's an aggressive bone in his body. He loves the sport though and has decided not to play baseball this summer.

He had all A's on his report card this time and his class play is next month. His class is going to be pigs in the play.

He hasn't been able to ride his new bike much since Christmas because the weather has been so cold and rainy. Hopefully we can get out there soon and ride.

Lily:
Brandon taught her to ride a bike with no training wheels last weekend. It was freezing cold, but she was determined to learn. She did GREAT!

She's getting ready to start T-ball next month. This will be her first organized team sport to participate in and she is excited. She wants to make sure she has a pink helmet and pink bat for her debut. I have volunteered to be the team mom this year for her team.

Lily's picture was one of the top 20 of the 2008 for Your Story Captured. To everyone who voted, thanks so much....she placed second!!!!

Me:
Well, nothing much going on with me, but keeping my family healthy and focused.

My house on Shepard Dr is finally leased again so that payment is taken care of for another year.

My branch and the branch down the road are merging together in March and I might get a promotion within the company at that time. Keep your fingers crossed.

Cinco and Leia are fine and healthy.
