February Update

Tyler:
Tyler was named King of the 80's Disco at Walter Jackson. All the kids had to dress up in 80's garb. We put a permed mullet wig on Tyler and he went at Eddie Van Halen. It was great! His birthday is Tuesday, the 17th, and we are taking a small overnight family vacation to the Music City to celebrate. He'll be 9, but he has the musical knowledge of a grown man stuck in the 80's. We will stay in downtown Nashville and go to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. The hotel has a pool so I'm sure we'll be going for a late night dip after dinner. We got him a new ipod for his birthday. Jackson got him an itunes gift card and a movie. Lily got him a Fender T shirt and a Van Halen T shirt. Baseball tryouts are next weekend and he's been going to batting practice every week with a local high school student as his instructor. We're hopeful this will be a good batting year for him.

Jackson:
Basketball is going well. They have only lost 2 out of 6 games. He has been able to take about 2 shots per game, but still no basket. He's having fun anyway. Jackson dressed up as Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High for the 80's Disco at school. We put a blond surfer wig on him and he wore swim trunks and Vans slip-on shoes. He was so cute. Baseball tryouts are for him next weekend as well, but he's still a bit apprehensive about playing with the pitching machine this year. We've asked him to give it one more season before he decides to quit baseball.
He asked me to be his Valentine this year! Of course, I said yes!

Lily:
Lily is getting ready to play T-ball, no tryouts for that. We bought her a pink helmet and pink bat and a good brown T-Ball glove. She's going to be adorable. She had her final VCUG last week to check for reflux after her surgery in Nov and she was clear! No reflux, no more meds!

Brandon:
Still on the job hunt. It seems as if no one is hiring around here. Leg is all healed, thank goodness, so he has been busy fixing things around the house. Good thing, too, because we sold it! We close on it at the end of this month. He's a bit saddened by this because he's worked so hard on this house and loves it so much. He's been working at my old house, too. We are going to move into it since I could not get renters in it. It worked out fine, though. We plan to make some upgrades and sell it in about a year for a profit. Then we can try to find OUR house.

Cinco:
She's looking forward to a bigger back yard to play in. She's not looking forward to having surgery next week, but maybe it will calm her down a bit. She's still just so hyper when the kids are around. Once she gets settled down, she is sweet as pie, but she's a maniac when she's excited. We took her to the park twice last weekend and let her off the leash both times for about a minute before she took off. The first time, she just ran up the hill to check out some people walking on the sidewalk. The next day, she took off and kept going. Out of the park and onto the sidewalk to the corner of an intersection of BUSY highway. We scolded her pretty good for that, but it sacred us to death. She's so big, it would have caused a MAJOR pile up on the highway, not to mention she would have been seriously hurt!

Me:
I'm just stressed.
